- Biography
McBride was born in New York, after studying Journalism and Mass Communication at St. John’s University, he went on to work in various fields including Marketing and Sales for Coty Inc before joining Dow Jones. At Dow Jones, McBride worked in various roles, assisting on different projects for The Wall Street Journal, WSJ Magazine and Barrons as well as News Corp and 21st Century Fox. This includes administrative, office operations, newsroom projects, internal and external events, marketing and sales based projects, and magazine based projects. McBride went on to launch and publish his own magazine ELSV, where he served as Creative Director and published 6 issues. With ELSV, he went on to produce and collaborate with other brands on photo and video projects and marketing campaigns.
During 2020, McBride returned to Dow Jones as Graphic Designer and Programmer assisting with internal events and meetings; curating internal communications, newsletters for Diversity Equity and Inclusion team. Upon moving to Georgia and joining Georgia State University in 2022, McBride took on Public Relations for Transcultural Conflict and Violence Initiative at GSU in the Department of Communication where he revamped the group’s website and launched social media and external communications. In this role, McBride is working with a diverse group of faculty, doctoral Presidential Fellows and postdoctoral researchers, working to root out the causes, solutions and impacts of issues; he works as liaison between the team and media; creating press releases as well as introspective storytelling of the groups goals through news and television interviews, ensuring compliance with university procedures. Outside of work, McBride enjoys writing, photography and music.
