NEW YORK — New York University (NYU) held its International Workshop for the School of Professional Studies on July 15th and 16th, 2024 in New York. The workshop aimed at establishing standards for involving “Formers” in PVE, CVE, and Exit or Deradicalization programs. These workshops brought together researchers and practitioners dedicated to this cause from different part of the world. Georgia State University (GSU) Doctoral Student; Stronger After Executive Director, Exit Nexus Founder and Transcultural Conflict and Violence Initiative (TCV) Presidential Fellow, Katharina Meredith created a Delphi study with Dr. Gordon Clubb at Leeds University on standards for including former extremists in P/CVE work and presented initial findings at the workshop with practitioners from across the globe, who continued the process of consensus building.
The project identified 70 consensus-based standards for PCVE organizations to follow when involving Formers in active work to provide confidence and support in PCVE activities.
